A Kid's Review
This review is from: Science: A History 1543-2001 (Hardcover)
This book is obviously written for the scientific novice, therefore very accessable for those with no science education at all. Furthermore, it is laid out is a somewhat novel and rather confusing style, but is also informative and very easy to read!
In my opinion, it does not give sufficient emphasis to the intellectual breakthrough that is commonly attributed to both Newton and Gallileao. That is, the translitteration of the objective (what we call scientific) observation of natural phenomena, into an abstrtact notation that is capable of forecasting the phenomena in future. (ie Laws of Science, defined by mathematical Equations such as Newton's Laws of Motion).
But there is a nice lot of 'tit bits' about the scientist's loves and lives as well!
