A treat with trams,
This review is from: Lisbon Story (Hardcover)
I've never visited Lisbon, Portugal, but Clara Macedo Cabral's delightful LISBON STORY offers an adventure for armchair travellers. The lush illustrations - a clever mix of original painting superimposed on real photos by Andrea Lozekova - really help the reader (especially young readers) lose themselves in the story. I love the way the small boy, Claudio, has such freedom to walk around while the adults are busy preparing for the feast of St Anthony or running shops/pubs. A special highlight was discovering how to drive a tram up and down Lisbon's steep hills.
My family only read the English parts, but the author has written this to help dual language learners - so it is in Portuguese and English. A lovely book.
