This review is from: Memento Mori (PC DVD) (DVD-ROM)
Played on Windows Vista 64bit.

Memento Mori is basically your run of the mill 3rd person point and click adventure game setup, story + objects + inventory + puzzles & clues = progress. But Memento Mori does have some nice differences here and there to make it more interesting & still very much a challenging game, but not too challenging. I myself usually have to revert to a walkthrough now and then on most PnC games, but so far i haven't needed to do so with Memento Mori, but it's still an enjoyment to play none the less.

The story puts you in control of two lead characters, Lara & Max, who seemingly have thy're own day to day lives both turned upside down, when their past connections with a Russian KGB style intelligence agency come back to haunt them. Both of them work with artwork & forgery, which is what the story revolves around, a bit like the Da Vinci code(monks included). However something that seperates Memento Mori from its competition is the fact that at certain stages of the game you can give 3 different response choices to other NPC's, some of the more important choices you make can actually change the outcome of the story all together. I have heard there are actually 8 different possible endings!

Visually the game looks very good, with highly detailed locations & realistic character movements within them. Although there are a few minor glitches here and there, for example Max's brother seems to have that drinking disorder from the guy off the Airplane movie, where he drinks through his eye socket :) the inventory & puzzles are very interesting, with some puzzles offering a complete 360 degree look around them for more clues(same with some inventory items) which is a nice change.

Sound wise the game is good, although there are allot of different accents in the game, some are very well done and belivable which help the story along, although with one of the main characters, Max, his voice is starting to get on my nerves, lol. i dunno if its just me but his voices accent is very confusing & irritating at points after a while, but thankfully we get to switch between the main characters.

In conclusion, i would recommend this game to point and click adventure players, its easy on the eye, the story isn't groundbreaking but it is good with interesting puzzles & inventory items to play with. Even though the voices are a bit weak, it still holds together well to make it a more than worthwhile play.
