Good and bad,

Bought this book a few weeks ago as i was keen to learn more about low carb/high protein diets as i work in the fitness industry. Where i find this book is excellent is the 'sciency' bit, explaining exactly what carbs do to our bodies, in particular the bad ones. What i didnt like was how restrictive it was in the first 2 weeks, Banning fruit and veg is not something i would recommend, and the recipes require alot of preparation, not everyone works a standard 9-5 job. Personally i would never try this diet as i find it a tad severe, but the author get's it spot on when it comes to why we do not need the 'rubbish' carbs in our diet.

The reviewer obviously hasn't read this book properly. Fruit and veg are not banned. Fruit is restricted, yes but only in the weight loss stage - and just look at all the veg you can eat in the recipes! And what you lose out in fruit you can easily make up with an abundance of salads to go with the protein.
