Very Much So,
This review is from: Fly From Here (Audio CD)
To be honest, Jon Anderson gets on my bloody nerves.
If you're a big Yes fan, these reviews will mean nothing, cause you'll either buy this album and judge it for yourself, or you'll refuse to have anything to do with it cause there's no sign of His Majesty Jon. Well there's no accounting for taste, but my opinion is this is one of the best Yes albums for many, many years. Simply because it is great to listen to.
Inevitable comparisons will place it alongside Drama, Talk, Tormato, maybe 90125. There's a good deal of Chris Squire up front, reminiscent in style to his Fish Out Of Water album, and the new singer does a fine job.
Free from the shackles of Anderson, who thinks he IS Yes, the band can focus on making entertaining music, and finally playing songs from Drama in their live shows. Looking forward to Hammersmith.
This is a Yes album.
