This review is from: Life In A Beautiful Light (MP3 Download)
I have tried very hard to love the music but after at least 10 plays I am still unable to remember which song is which from the titles. Most have a constant drumming background that is similar in each song. From a distance it just sounds like the same song being played over and over. Loved her first album but this one is nowhere near as good. Too over produced, too similar, nothing that stands out. Liked the acoustic versions, good to get away from the constant beat of the drumming.
Overall, wish I had not purchased it, nothing special at all.

The bass must be bust on your MP3 player because this is so not true.

Hot Potato you are so right. So wanted to love this album as much the first two but to me each song sounds much the same. Sorry.

I like the album, but not as much as I liked the other two. However, her penchant for producing uptempo songs can make her albums very similar - one paced even. Having said that, it's still a pretty good album (3.5 stars?).

One thing about Amy MacDonald (unconnected to her music) is that I have seen her interviewed a few times and she comes across as a charming and very lovely person. She's a real nice young lady.
