Dirty Pretty Things, 3.5 stars,
This review is from: Waterloo to Anywhere (Audio CD)
Alan McGee has always had a knack for cherry picking pretty, stylish looking young bands who can make some credible noise. Dirty Pretty Things don't fall short least on Creation's roster. Named after the 2002 film by the same name about illegal immigrants in London, their image is cool, the tunes are good, though perhaps not knock out good as were old school Creation acts My Bloody Valentine or even some earlier Primal Scream tracks, maybe not quite as exiting as it was back then, but for now, compared to the mountain of current crap available on the shelves, this one's worthy of a tenner.
