Good Story but Appalling Video Transfer,
This review is from: Dallas - Season 12 [DVD] (DVD)
Penned on behalf of the missus who has been a huge Dallas fan from when the series first aired on TV years ago.
While the stories and characterisations, wheeling and dealing are excellent the experience is ruined by what must be one of the worst video to DVD transfers ever. Even on a small screen the picture is grainy and blocky and almost unwatchable on a modern widescreen TV. This seems to be a direct result of Warners cramming 5 episodes on each disk, by comparison Season 3 which only has 3 episodes per side has perfectly watchable and clean picture. No-one expects an old TV show to be perfect, but this has nothing to do with cleaning up the source but everything to do with laziness and economy - would quite happily have paid extra to spread the show over another disc or two.

I agree with Northern Warrior, the sound is also pretty bad in places, I too would have been happy to pay a little more for better quality

Zee Jai says:
It's far from perfect, but hardly unwatchable. We should be grateful to have it on DVD at all - look what happened with NYPD Blue (abandoned after 4 seasons) and UK shows like Casualty (fans left in the lurch after just 3).
