Marlborough England's Fragile Genius,
This review is from: Marlborough: Britain's Greatest General: England's Fragile Genius (Paperback)
The book is principally focused on Marlborough's military career and in particular the campaigns and battles of the Spanish Succession War. The political dimension and background - relations with allies and party in fighting in Britain - are covered more scetchilly though their importance and relevance are made clear. The personal side and court politics are also dealt with but again in less depth than the military as one would of course expect from the author's interests and expertise.
It is more than a good introduction to the man and the period and forms a good starting point for further reading.
