When I was 8 I used to buy these comics. I treasured them, until my Mum threw them away. It is really good to revisit them again, so many years later - it's just a shame that they are in black and white. This series runs from number 21, the Hate Monger, through to 40, a scrap with Dr Doom. By this time, Jack Kirby's drawings have started to settle down into a pattern, and Ben had acquired his now familiar brick like appearance. The series really starts to get into its stride with these stories, and the serial approach which saw the stories develope over a number of instalments was started here. The stories are starting to interlock, and you can see the very beginning of the Marvel Universe. All the favourites are here, Sub Mariner, Dr Doom, The Frightful Four, The Hulk, and so on. I won't say anything about the stories - they're too complex to repeat here, but I would recommend this book. The real shame is that the series really gets going with the classic series in the next few issues. Galactus, and the Silver Surfer are coming soon. So when are we going to see the next intalment in this series of reprints! Buy this one soon - you won't regret it!
