Not what i ordered,
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Garmin nuvi 2545 5" Sat Nav with Western Europe Maps (Electronics)
Be very careful when ordering this item. I did my research and found exactly what i wanted on the Garmin web site. The nuvi 2545 for £149. I decided to order it from Amazon so did a search for it and sure enough there is the nuvi 2545 at £149. Once it arrived it was obviously not what i had seen on the Garmin site. It looks identical and is called a nuvi2545 but mine has no blue tooth or voice control or free map updates. the satnav i have is not even listed on the Garmin site, there are either two models of this number or the Garmin site has the wrong details with the wrong picture. When i registered it which you do by linking it to your computer and to the Garmin site, Even Garmin gave it a reg number of nuvi2545. So i have a very basic sat nav at the price and spec of a premium machine. BEWARE
There does appear to be 3 models of the nuvi2545 that i can find. Only one of which is displayed on the Garmin site either in the past current of new release section. All are quite different even down to screen size so basically if you find what you want on the Garmin site you only have a 33% chance of getting that model if you order that model No. Quite ridiculous.

Mr. J. Anderson says:
There are 2 versions of this product in the Garmin range. The basic 2545 & the 2545LMT, like all garmins, the letters refer to additional features in the cae Lifetime Maps & Traffic updates. This reviewer obviouslt didn't read the Garmin product descriptions very carefully, if you want Bluetooth or Voice recognition you want t different product. Duh!

Sorry but its a shame you think i did not, and have stated that i did not read the Garmin site very carefully !! when you register the model i received it comes up as a LMT despite it not having the features.. At that time the LMT was not listed on the Garmin web site.. Following my purchase and complaint Garmin admitted there was a mistake on their web sit and now they do, as you say, list both models.
The Garmin that you have purchased doesn't have Voice Command or Bluetooth and I apologise for any inconvenience caused. I have checked the product page on the website and have noticed that in the overview it is stated to have these features. I have reported this error and it should be fixed shortly. I sincerely apologise for this mistake.
Thanks Mr Anderson..no need to apologise Duh !!

While I understand that Garmins description may have been wrong, there seems to be a little confusion about the LMT designation, which is not related to Bluetooth or Voice Recognition i.e. only the 2475 and 2575 have Bluetooth, the 2495 and 2595 Series have voice recognition and Bluetooth. LMT is an 'upgrade' which gives you Lifetime Map and Traffic updates only. Also the comment about different screen sizes is incorrect the 2400s are 4.3" and the 2500s are 5". I think it's unfair to post a negative review of the unit when the issue was only to do with Garmin's or Amazons description, this should be communicated to them directly? (as was done). Also to suggest it is a 'very basic' SatNav, when its in Garmins 'Advanced' line and has more features then my top-of-the-line GPS purchased 2 years ago for €400, is misleading.

In fairness Garmin admitted their mistake. i don't think its unreasonable to research a product on the Garmin web site, find exactly what you want, note down the number and order that from Amazon and expect to get what you researched. I have not posted a negative review, just a Beware when ordering to double check that the item listed on Amazon matches that of the Garmin site. At the time the time the 2545 was listed as 4:3, obviously that has now been corrected on the Garmin site. In my opinion this is a basic Sat nav by today's standards. No blue tooth or voice control or MP3 and no traffic updates, all of which are standard on my Audi car Satnav
Its just my opinion which is the point of these things, its up to others to make their mind up.
