NOT a 50Litre backpack,
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Mil-Tec Military Army Patrol MOLLE Assault Pack Tactical Combat Rucksack Backpack Bag 36L Black (Misc.)
This is a well-made small pack. As reviewers here say, it is suited to school and college kit, and would be excellent as a small overnight or flight bag, providing space and protection for a laptop or a camera kit.
However, I bought it as a military style, 50 Litre backpack, capable of carrying significant weight and fully integrated with the MOLLE system. I intended it for short summer trips including significant walking, at least 20 miles per day. The size is about 30L, to be generous; the harness and waist belt are far short of military reqirements for comfortable weight carrying; there is no chest strap; and the MOLLE strips are mostly decorative. For example, The side strips have only three openings and only the middle one is sufficiently wide to take standard straps. This limits attachments to tiny knife sheaths and the like. A couple of small pouches could be added to the back of the pack, but the harness will discourage putting significant additional weight there.
It is a nice pack, and in black, quite elegant, so I will pass it on to my wife who will almost certainly find it useful. However, how long will people keep advertising this as a 50L? - or is this just a brand name?

Amazon Customer says:
It is hard to find a Molle bag at 50litres. The nearest I own is the superb 5.11 Rush 72, which is 43Litres, and can easily be augmented with pouches to reach 50. You can even strap a smaller 5.11 bag called a Moab10 on and reach it immediately. 5.11 Tactical Rush 72 Backpack - Black Until recently this has been available at £80 but has now gone up. The problem with this one is that it is a full-sized assault pack and therefore short and deep. So, while a beautiful piece of luggage and capable of serious load-caryring it strikes me as not as suitable for serious distance backpacking as the balance is off without waist and front loads. There is a similar Rush 24 which is 35L, less deep and currently better priced at £80 5.11 Tactical Rush 24 Backpack - Black My other Molle pack which is again around 35L is the Pro-force Tomahawk. This is well-made andd comfortable and can be added to. It is very easy to strap on additional items as it has many Molle straps. This is certainly a possibility for camping and walking. (I carry some items on my belt, or the belt of the pack if necessary.) Army Tomahawk Special OPS Pack MOLLE MLCS Rucksack 35L Black They also do a number of larger bags but I haven't used them. The only other alternative I have explored is the Karrimor Predator serries, which are hard to get and expensive. Some of them are very specialist which is one reason I rejected them, but they take additional pouches, rather like an army Beregen. Karrimor SF Ruck Sack Predator TECMAC 50 I hope that this helps.

Pro-Force Tomahawk Elite LX MOLLE Rucksack Military Hydration Backpack 40L Olive Green
it's advertised there as being 40ltr, but most other places as being 45ltr. I bought one about 4/5 months ago. i'm inclined to think it's nearer 45ltrs. It compresses pretty small, but can take a serious amount of kit if you need it to. the MOLLE straps aren't for show either, and it's actually used by some forces personnel. it's an awesome pack for the money.

In the product description it says it is 51 x 29 x 28, which if you calculate that would give a maximum (outside) capacity of 41412 CCs which converts to 41.412 L so it's maximum a 40 L bag.

50 quid for a pack that has military level quality and can handle hikes etc seems a bit low to me. Especially given the pricing of the Rush series which is a bit more realistic. Two of my friends had a very similar bag to this, both broke rather quickly. Not sure if there's an actual decent version out there or if they're all junk, which is why I don't recommend them.

I think you will find it says 36L, so you are correct it's not 50L. Want 50L, buy a 50L, don't slate something for being not what you want.
