Did I miss something?,
This review is from: Les Miserables - The 25th Anniversary in Concert at the O2 [DVD] (DVD)
The product was easy to order and payment was a breeze. It came quickly, but we had no idea that a DVD released in England would only work with England's technology. Apparently, there is a location code for America, and the DVD we purchased did not have it. (unless you want to illegally change the chip to accommodate it). I was very displeased, and Googled the problem. There is no fix and I am now attempting to return the product. :(

Yes you did miss something, you bought the DVD without scrolling down and checking the rest of the page. Amazon states clearly in the product details, just above the reviews, "Region: Region 2 (This DVD may not be viewable outside Europe. Read more about DVD formats.) The DVD does not deserve 1 star neither does Amazon.

Yes it clearly said that, however name calling is not the answer, I am sure many people have made a similar mistake, you can change your dvd player to be a mutliregion player ( google it), also the dvd is going to be on sale around march 2011 in the usa

Your review has NOTHING to do with the music nor the performance - just your own silliness (dare I say 'stupidity'?) for not reading the product description and also for posting a 'review' which is not a review at all and which affects the overall rating of the DVD.
Heaven help us!

Change the DVD to Multi Region, it's only usually a few clicks on the remote and doesn't involve opening it up or changing any chips. I buy Region 1 (US) all the time from Amazon.com and they play fine as I've changed my DVD player to multi region.

Exchange it for the bluray version. It works in the US
