Upgraded a Macbook,
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
I used this to upgrade a macbook pro (2010) model. The upgrade process was simple - it tooks minutes to remove the old drive and replace it with the SSD (Although the cloning process did take a couple of hours!). Once it was inserted, the Mac rebooted without a problem. Startup speed was noticably improved, with Mac OS X starting about 10-20 seconds and being ready to use almost instantly, and app launching is smoother and faster. In general the whole machine is far more responsive and smoother than before.
I ran some speed tests and fund that the write/read speeds were excellent, consistently breaking the 400MB/s mark, with reading being almost on 500MB/s and writing slightly slower, peaking at around 460MB/s on one test. The test consisted of writing and reading a large video file, and the indications are that this SSD means the Mac can easy handle HD video formats without a problem.
It's an expensive upgrade, but if you're looking for high speeds, it's well worth it.
