i have just purchased this little peice of kit for my netbook so i can burn my dvd and cds. this is so easy to install the software and burning is not a problem. i have to admit for 20 odd quid this is fantastic value and you will be pushed to get any better. i am delighted with this and would highly recommend it to anyone. i just have window 7 starter on my netbook and it runs perfectly. well this is the best buy i have done in a long long time

Hi, I've just got a netbook so could prob use this piece of kit with it. However, really what I'm looking for is a small DVD player to plug into the TV and watch DVD's - is this suitable for doing that? (sorry I'm not very techie I'm afraid!!)

As long as your TV is relatively new and has USB inputs, this drive can be used for Playback.

I have a Samsung Netbook - N130 running XP. I am looking for an external CD and DVD Drive that will upload Microsoft Office Professional 2010 to it. Will this item undertake this?

Can this unit also play back DVDs and CDs as well as burn them?

I would like to know if I can run and watch DVDs on my netbook using this device? Of course it is handy for uploading what you need from CD or DVD but I don't want it to just read and copy - I want to run movies and music on my netbook.
Thanks - if you know I would be so grateful for a reply...

Thank you for your review. I have just purchased a MS Surface Pro tablet which runs window 8 and which has a usb 3.0 socket. Will I be able to use this even though my usb is 3.0 not 2.0? I want to be able to instal software from cd-roms as well as play and record dvd+RW dvd-RW etc.
