Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)Having an ex-vegetarian wife I have no fear of veggy cooking. Yeah, I like a bit of meat as much as the next omnivore but I know that there are some very substantial ways of maxing out a veggy meal to make it hearty and satisfying.
So, I read this book with an open mind and was pleasantly surprised at the recipes on offer. Some very inspiring dishes, full of drizzle, herbs and seasonal vegetable use.
The design of the book was nice too, lots of gastro-porn photos that make the mouth water, nicely illustrated pages showing how to grow or make certain ingredients (tofu and the like).
Admittedly some of the recipes look a little too involved and fiddly for everyday use but hey, this book isn't marketed as a recipe book for busy families.
The few things I have tried have been right on the money and there are some interesting, well thought out ingredient combinations that have frankly, worked and worked very well.
A really nice book and one I would recommend to the meat eater and pure vegetarian alike.
