does the job,
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: BBB Lock Out Cassette Lockring Remover - Shimano, Black/Silver (Sports)
This tool is indespensable to cyclists that maintain their own bikes, the lockring remover allows me to dismantle and clean my componants regularly which leads to improved performance and peace of mind, its cheap and effective without compromising quality.

Yes, it's the 'freewheel' one you should avoid. Hyperglide = freehub which uses the tool with the short splines and often with a centre guide. Freewheel is the older screw on one which this tool won't work on.
Freehub also requires a way of holding the sprockets still, so you'll need a chain whip.
