Never misses a beat,
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Polar FT7 Men's Heart Rate Monitor and Sports Watch (Sports)
I bought this after my wife bought a similar model for logging her exercise. I had been dubious about HR monitors as I was never sure about their accuracy and how likely they were to drop the signal part way through exercise. In term of reliability the FT7 has been excellent and deals with various situations well where I thought it would struggle (competition runs with loads of other people wearing similar tech, treadmills with compatible and non-compatible tech etc).
The FT7 records a lot of exercise sessions before running out of recording room and I've never got anywhere near it's limit before logging data in a spreadsheet and clearing it's memory. The screen is large and clear, the functions easy to access and use and the chest band is comfortable to wear. I've been using mine for close to a year now with about three fitness sessions a week and haven't had to replace the battery in either the watch or the chest strap sensor so am happy with the battery life too.
I've found it a really useful tool to make sure I'm pushing myself and making progress. It can be easy to allow your effort level to drift off and your performance to plateau but this lets you quantify your effort and performance. GPS and an integrated download platform/software would be a handy addition so you could log the data easier but for the money (I paid £60) this is an excellent buy.
