Make your own personalised chocolate bars...and it's great fun too!,
This review is from: Magic Choc Chocolate Picture Maker (Pack of 4) (Grocery)
The Chocolate Picture Maker from 'Magic Choc' is a chocolate bar making craft set which enables kids to make their own personalised chocolate bars with very little mess, fuss or difficulty. This particular set contains enough chocolate to make four chocolate bars.
The contents of the set are pretty basic. You get four rectangular clear-plastic moulds (or activity trays), enough chocolate to make four bars (dark, white and milk chocolate), and a load of stencil set ideas (although you could always make up your own design).
Making the chocolate bars is relatively straight forward. Simply melt the chocolate in hot water, squeeze the chocolate from their packets onto the plastic mould, and then pop it into your refrigerator for a bit. Very simple! The hardest part is drawing the design with the different chocolates. But I guess this is really half the fun!
When my wife, our two kids and I tried out the set, we found that there really wasn't enough milk chocolate included in the set to easily cover each design. In each case we managed to fill the mould, but we did find that it was quite difficult to get this final stage of applying the chocolate right.
However, the end results really are surprisingly good! And to be honest, the whole process was a load of fun for us. Plus the chocolate bars tasted pretty darn good too.
One final point, the packaging and the listing does state that the product is designed for kids of 4+. However, I really doubt that kids of around 4 will be able to manage the chocolate drawing process. It really can be quite fidderly!
