2.0 out of 5 stars I wish it was better, 20 Aug 2011
This review is from: Never Mind The Bollocks Here's Paul Oakenfold (Audio CD)
Having grown up with Paul Oakenfold as an iconic DJ...and enjoyed the amazing period from 1990-2000 when he ruled (Dom Phillips famously calling him the DJ's DJ!!!), I really will him on to produce another classic mix. Unfortunately this is not it. Given people like Above and Beyond now do Trance much better, I almost wish he would go on to champion a new sound...and produce one more classic mix. Please?

Love the review Jim.

I feel the same as you regarding Oakey. His 'top of his game' period for me was the years you've mentioned and I too keep wishing he'll come back with one of those classic Oakey mixes. I think with Paul, he loves trance SO MUCH that he couldn't possible play any other type of music ever again.

I bought his Perfecto Las Vegas mix after someone had mentioned it was like the Cream Resident album. Man I was disappointed, it was nothing like it!

Although the dude went mainstream many years ago and stayed their, he's still a Legend and always will be.

All the best James Jimbo Croft!

Peter
