Scholarly: a joy to read,
By A Customer
This review is from: Jesus (Paperback)
Those who rate this book poorly are of that ever growing band of people for whom a sentence of this length becomes just too much with which to cope. This is not to suggest that Wilson writes in a long-winded fashion. His book is erudite, scholarly and very well written. All of his thoughts on this fascinating subject are well supported with Bible material. It is apparent to the well-versed reader that Wilson has studied the Gospels in minute detail. A joy to read for those whose literary tastes and mental wanderings take them further than the latest thriller.

That first sentence is terrible. If you set out to demonstrate your erudition, you fail. What a peculiar flavour of snobbery hangs over this review. How sad. Why does this subject encourage more trolling and pot-shots than any other? Such a mocking, intolerant age.
