gets better and better... but spoilt by an historical error,
This review is from: Royal Flush (Royal Spyness Mysteries) (Mass Market Paperback)
I've read all the Lady Georgiana books so far and find them both witty and enjoyable. However it's a great shame that the otherwise meticulous Ms Bowen made a historical error in this volume. The action takes place in August 1932 in which the characters of Princesses Elizabeth and Margaret appear. At this time they were aged six and two repectively. Whilst it is just possible to imagine the dialogue of Princess Elizabeth to be possible for a six year old it is impossible for a child that is only just two to speak as Princess Margaret does in this novel. It spoilt my enjoyment of what is otherwise an excellent novel. This error gives the novel only 3 stars otherwise it deserved five.
