3.0 out of 5 stars Good product but..., 30 Jan 2014

This review is from: [ALL In 1] EasyAcc® Portable WiFi Router & WiFi Repeater, Wireless External HDD / Flash Drive / SD Card Reader, 8800mah PowerBank Built-in External Battery Pack for iPhone, Andorid, Windows 7 8, IOS, Mac OS, Andorid Smartphones, iPad, Tablets (Personal Computers)
The first thing you notice is how bulky and heavy the device is. Granted, it is a 8800mah battery after all.

An another striking feature is how easy is to set-up the EasyAcc. I was ready to transfer/view my files on the device within 5 minutes of opening the packaging.

I agree that the instructions are bear minimum but sufficient for novices.

There is no strict requirements for you to use a specific app on your tablet/phone. For my android phone/tablet I used HD File Manager.

Pros

Easy to set-up and be up and running
Concise and simple instructions
Solid built
Probably the largest battery capacity for a device of this kind
An ethernet port which allows you to make this device as wired router (handy for hotels with no Wifi)

Cons

Bulky
Cannot access it as file server in Windows
Requires an FTP app to view files on PC's
You cannot connect the PC/TV to the EasyAcc directly via USB (see below why important for me)
Lack of official support channel (I ended up asking for help on their Facebook page!)
2 USB ports (one too many!): one to charge other devices like phone/tablets and one to receive connections
Being picky here but the SD card when inserted protrudes out of the device
Lack of detailed manual
Bare minimum information on official website, which does not inspire much confidence!

The number of negatives outweighs the positives for my needs (i.e. use the device as a file server I can access via Wifi and which is hooked to my Samsung TV via USB), therefore I decided to return the item to Amazon.

I felt the RavPower Wireless FileHub was a better alternative, albeit loosing some of the plus features of the EasyAcc (large battery capacity and ethernet port)

I bought a similar one recently and it worked perfectly (so far). I plug it in and I can view all my files on my Window 7 and iPad. Are you saying that is not the case for this device and to view my file I need FTP client?

Thanks
Michael
