Pleasure isn't Pain,
This review is from: Pleasure (Audio CD)
I was first introduced to the Ohio Players through the single "Pleasure".
Wow! what an eye/ear opener! Changed my whole musical tastes. But the first album I got hold of was "Pain"(see my review). The title track from this album was/is one of the best things I've ever heard, totally eclipsing the innovative "Pleasure". The same goes album v album - Pleasure hasn't got what Pain has got. True, Pleasure's got "Funky Worm", which a lot of people went crazy about (the best thing Granny did, for those in the know), but I honestly can't enthuse about this album as I can about Pain. You have to have it though, because it's a Westbound album and, therefore a Junie Morrison album (see my review about him too!).
Both albums contain 'bonus tracks' which weren't on the original vinyl albums, and these are mostly throwawayable and detract from the context.
