This review is from: A History Of Scotland (Hardcover)
At last a popular non patronising history of Scotland without the myths. Read also the 'Scottish Enlightenment' by Arthur Herman. Both books together will help dispel Scottish history as being nothing other than the embodiment of "Kilts, Bagpipes, Robert Burns, with a few battles thrown in for good measure" and dispel the idea that the 'Treaty of Arbroath' is any thing other than infantile propaganda.
