This review is from: Panasonic NN-E289BMBPQ 19 Litre solo microwave oven black (Kitchen & Home)
I'm not a big microwave user only tend to use it for defrosting, reheating, and for microwave popcorn. So I only wanted a fairly basic model with digital controls. This seemed to fit the bill after my last microwave gave up the ghost after 5 years.
- Build quality seems good
- Pretty compact
- Seemingly more powerful than the wattage would suggest
- Usability: This is the only con, but to me seems like a big one. First of all, there's a button to open the door, it's a completely non-intuitive action (push rather than pull), it's quite a stiff button, and it's another mechanism to go wrong. What's wrong with just directly pulling the door open? Also, the button scheme looks like it was designed by a robot. Instead of tapping out the time you want you have to add increments of 10 seconds or 1 minute or 10 minutes. The power has to be set every single time, it doesn't just default to full power. You can't adjust the power or add some time while its already cooking. I know its nearly an entry-level model but it seems like these are basic features that are surprisingly absent.
At time of writing I paid £54 and purchased direct from Amazon.
