No help to be had from Belkin without Belkin's product number,
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Belkin Hi Speed USB 2.0 Universal Media Reader - Black (Accessory)
This item did not work on my Windows 7. The software with it covers all prior versions of Window from and including Windows 98.
Windows XP is unsupported from April, 2,014.
The user manual included in the list of contents, on the side of the box, was/is missing with both my original purchase and the replacement.
Belkin requires its own product number before you can access its internet helpline.
Without it, you get no further.
Its website stated that this product number should be on the base of the box, on a sticky label. There was none on the box of my original purchase, nor on the replacement one. There is a printed number but the Belkin website did not recognise it.
I could not find this item for sale on Belkin's website. I could have done a specific search if the printed number was recognised.
My conclusion has been that this item is probably old stock.
It does say that it is capable of being updated with the appropriate software.
I chose Belkin because of the lifetime guarantee. I did not consider any other make.
