Good Soft Rice,
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Tefal Rk302e15 8-in-1 Cooker - Slow Cooker, Steamer, Rice Cooker, Porridge Maker (2012 Model) (Kitchen & Home)
I am a vegetarian and eat quite a bit of brown rice. I used to cook it in my microwave, but it was never perfect. Now I use this to cook both brown and white rice. Both kinds cook beautifully and will keep warm afterwards. I haven't tried to cook anything else in it, but it is capable of a whole lot more.

How much time does it take for fast cooking of brown rice and white rice?

I always cook for 2 people, but do double (4 meals) and freeze half. I use 300g rice to 600 ml water for both brown and white. It takes approx 42 minutes for white rice and 90 minutes for wholegrain brown rice. It will keep the rice warm afterwards, but I generally serve as soon as it's cooked.
You can do stews and various other things in this cooker, but currently I only use it for rice, which comes out nice and fluffy. Much better than using a microwave. Hope this helps.

Thank you very much. I use microwave currently and it takes 15 minutes for white rice and 27 minutes for brown.
Could you possibly suggest a rice cooker which is quicker than the Tefal model?

Sorry I don't know of any, but I have not researched it. I am retired, so cooking times are not so important to me.
