Why do we celebrate mediocrity in the UK? This woman admits she cannot sing, does not write the songs and has no involvement in the production process and yet there are people who buy it. Put it on a decent hi-fi and you will hear how thin and weedy Cole's autotuned voice is. Her management defend her miming in her live shows and on TV by saying its difficult to do the dance routines and sing at the same time!! Can I suggest Cole just calls herself a dancer then because a singer she is not. This album has no musical credibility whatsoever. It's just a shameless money making exercise. Shame on everybody involved in its making.
To all Cole's fans, listen to Amy MacDonald instead and discover real music from a singer who loves music for its own sake and not because of the money.

Do your research, Cheryl has co-written some songs, some of them haven't appeared on the album because they're too personal. You obviously haven't bought the album so why are writing a review?! It's a great album.

I havent bought it but I have had the misfortune of hearing it due to a friend on mine. I think he fancies her. Would her records sell if she wasn't nice looking? Will she be invited on to Later With Jools Holland? I don't think so. She cannot sing live? I stand corrected if Cole has written some of the songs but I also stand by my earlier comments. It's manufactured garbage. Cole is utterly talentless. When I was 15 I was listening to Springsteen. If any adult thinks this has any artistic credibility it proves that we love to celebrate mediocrity in the UK (Big Brother, X Factor, Britain's Got Talent, The Only Way is Essex, Geordie Shore etc etc).

Yep. Whilst I fully agree with your views Tony I am afraid that when it comes to Cole and her other shambolic associates knocking in and around along the mainstream pop circuit; talking, (in any way,) about music credentials and talent is like knocking your head against a brick wall with mainstream music fans. These people celebrate this stuff because they have neither the curiosity or the will to investigate other thoughtful underground music that isn't the result of mental obviousness and would prefer their tastes to be supplied directly to them rather than finding out for themselves. Just thank the lord you are not one of them.

I do, I do. There is so much good music out there that doesn't sell by the shed load but people settle for what is served up to them. All I would say to Cheryl Cole is "Do it live Cheryl, do it live. Badger Jools Holland to get on his show". Go on Cheryl, prove me wrong. Never gonna happen.

She does write and co-write some of her songs and she CAN sing, nobody (including Cheryl herself) makes out she can sing like Mariah Carey or Jennifer Hudson, but like Janet Jackson, she CAN sing and always has great choreography in her videos or TV performances.

I wouldn't want to claim writing credit for the songs Cole records I prefer my singers to do it live on Later with Jools Holland. There is no way Cheryl Cole can sing and do the dance routines at the same time in her shows. If she could she'd be superhuman. She can't even mime well. Even fans of hers who saw her on Graham Norton recently said she was poor when performing her single. Read this: http://www.metro.co.uk/tv/901490-cheryl-c

Tony, you are absolutely correct.
In reality she has very, very little to do with "her" music.
Basically she's a fraud. She's 5% substance and 95% hype. That's what people object to and her constant miming is just the most obvious indication of her lack of any real talent. This is just compounded by her insistance that she's actually singing.
I've never known any "artist" who is so universally disliked as Cheryl Cole. It's common knowledge that she's an unpleasant person, but her coy, little girl lost act just rubs people up the wrong way. People are sick of seeing her plastered over the media and having nothing to say, nothing to really contribute. For someone who is hanging by a thread artistically, she's unusually arrogant.
She forgets that she's riding a wave that will crash very, very soon.

Agma, Tony - I thank the lord (if I believed) that there are real music fans out there - I used to blame the internet for the downturn in musical standards, but there's always been sub-standard music. The fact is, people are lazy when it comes to buying music, and the rockola'd records on mainstream radio tend to be the guff that people will buy. Mind you, the internet has helped me access some good stuff over the last 10 years - Dry The River, Grizzly Bear, St Vincent, Ren Harvieu, Efterklang, Boards of Canada - I could go on. Just like Cheryl, who unfortunately insists on going on and on and bloody on....

Why does she need a co writer? Is she struggling to spell her own name?
