5.0 out of 5 stars Great camera, 7 Jan 2011
This review is from: Panasonic HDC-SDT750 3D Camcorder (3MOS Sensor, SD Card Recording, Full HD 2D recording, 5.1 audio, 14.2 Megapixel stills) (Electronics)
This camera is awesome simply as a 2D camera. It's very competent , has many great features such as image stablisation which really works. Takes great video in low light too. If you think of the 3D as a nice optional extra and don't expect the quality you see in the movies you will not be disappointed.

For really only a couple of hundred pounds more than the top end 2D model from panasonic I really fail to see how others can criticise the 3d capabilities. Up from this you need to spend 21,000 and you still dont get the same quality as seen in the latest 3d movies. I've had some fun filming my son 3d sledging in the recent snow falls. We've also taken video of him performing TaeKwonDo at the camera ( although luckily not that near to break it ! ). If you film 3D within a few metres and in good light you'll get some good effects.
You can easily edit using Sony Vegas Pro too.

Can I presume that over, say, 10 feet away the 3d 'bit' doesn't really do anything? I only ask because sometimes us Brits tend to get the "continental" measures wrong so "a few metres" is one hell of variation (I faced the fact that we just don't "do" metric - lol. Well apart from when it's used to hide huge price increases - eg litres for petrol)

I've REALLY digressed there

My question is - can the special lens be used on other hd camcorders? I bought the top of the range just before this came out !!!!
