Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Interlocking Blue Gym Play mats 8 pack 32 sq ft (Misc.)
I bought these wanting to use them as a protection for my carpet when practising solo martial art forms, footwork and basics. My main criticism is that the connections between the mats seem weak.
I tried practising footwork in the first session and saw that was pulling the tiles apart with the weight transferrance back and forth. Since then even when practising punches or kicks without footwork, or doing stretches (box splits, yoga) and leg exercises (lunges, squats) gaps appear. The entire matted area also moves and lifts, even when braced against a wall, the mats being too soft and light to retain their shape.
I'm not sure what I'd recommend these for other than as a base for weights or a workout bench. Any dynamic movement or shifting weight on them pulls them apart. It looks like I'll need to buy something thicker so that the joints and mats have better integrity. At least they were fairly cheap for 8 of them, and of course, anything is better than nothing in terms of floor protection.
