3.0 out of 5 stars Good, but not as good as the original one., 8 Mar. 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Morphy Richards 48775 Intellisteam Compact Food Steamer 6 Litres - White (Kitchen & Home)
I bought this to replace my larger Intellisteam Steamer which I bought some time ago. I have to say that dropping down to just two compartments means it is not so flexible in what can be cooked. On the plus side - the compartments are bigger so more can go in. There are two things that I am not thrilled with:

1. It produces an enormous amount of steam which makes the kitchen windows wet. If you get this do not use it under any of your wall cupboards as they will also end up very steamy and dripping onto work surfaces etc.

2. It is reasonably easy to programme, but you cannot programme it in advance (as I always did with my previous one) and just press 'go' when you wish to turn it on. You have to programme it and within about 20 seconds start it, otherwise it turns itself off and loses all the settings.

Having said this, it does cook vegetables well. I haven't used it for meat, fish or rice yet, but I will do in time.

Overall, I wish I could have afforded the larger steamer with three comparments, but it was way out of my price range.

Don't be so rude! This was an highly informative review - unlike your crass comment!

Thank you, your number 1 comment was really useful as I am having a complete from top to bottom new kitchen being fitted as from Tuesday this week which will last for 3 weeks - I know now not to place it under the new wall units but near an open window. Many thanks very helpful.

The best way to use a steamer is to put it under a kitchen extractor. I have a Tefal steamer and that's what I do.

Well done on stating the obvious! The OP is probably just trying to inform people about the amount of steam, some are worse than others, bit like people. Enjoy your sarcasm and chips!
