Classical Music at its Best,
This review is from: 100 Hits - Classical (Audio CD)
This is one of the best compilations I have found regarding Classical Music. It brings many Orchestra's from around the World, right into your living room. With well-known Orchestra's as Royal Philharmonic, London Symphony and our Eastern Orchestra's such as Slovak Philharmonic, Paris Conservatoire etc. The only downside, is that "Academy of St. Martin-In-The-Fields" are not on this compilation, as they are my favorite.
100 Hits over 5 CD's and each piece is well known and beautfully composed and conducted.
1: Whilst the majority of this compilation is DDD (Digital format). There are a few tracks that are AAD (Analogue, Analogue, Digital). For those who do not know. That means "A - Studio Recorded on Tape", "A - Mastered on Tape", then "D - Remastered onto Digital". In a nutshell; the old "tape hiss" syndrome.
2: In my own opinion, they could have left out CD 3. As it contains "voice" Classics. I don't mind some Tenors or Baritones. But Suprano's is a little too much for my ears when I just want to relax and the lights down low. Thank manufactures for Toughened Glass lol.
For those who love Classical music at it's best. Do not put this in your usual CD Player (2 speakers) 2:1 sound systems. Instead, place the cd in your DVD player with proper (5 speaker) 5:1 Surround-Sound Theatre System and get a real Concert Hall effect. Granted, the CDs are only a 2:1 recording but you'll be amazed what you'll hear from each speaker - Tape Hiss included : )
Enjoy and thanks for reading.
