This review is from: Walter Moorcroft: Memories of Life and Living (Hardcover)
Moorcroft collectors will delight in the frankness and honesty which Walter Moorcroft reveals in this unexpected but hugely delightful book. In many places one can't help but grin, indeed chuckle, at some of the antics of the youthful boy. This is very much a recollection of personal life and not fixated on the Moorcroft wares. Having said that there are some revealing truths many of which will clarify previous conjecture whilst others, pulling no punches, reveal some of the discord, formerly prone to gossip, behind the scenes. All in all this is an unfussy account of the man and the life behind the man who held the Moorcroft Pottery together during the post war years when changing fashions and high street style left little room for the designs the name of Moorcroft had, indeed continues to be synonymous for.
