Excellent Metallic Hardcore by guys into Tom Cruise!,
This review is from: Cover Your Tracks (Audio CD)
Bury Your Dead don't waste any time on this record, they turn up, plug in and then attempt to rip your face off with aural brutality. To all intents and purposes they succeed admirably. Tough-guy Hardcore with a decent-sized dose of Metal a la Hatebreed is the order of the day and it certainly gets the job done. No fat, no fuss, the album's twelve tracks are over and done in a fraction over half an hour, with just one song longer than 3 minutes in length. A fact about this album which is of minor note is the naming scheme the band decided on for the song titles; they're all named after films featuring Tom Cruise. Whether they're all big fans, I can't pretend to know but it is an unusual idea. No matter though, if you want a vicious circle pit whipping up, Bury Your Dead will be just the band for you. Fans of bands like Hatebreed, Born From Pain or Ringworm, in fact any brutal Metalcore or Hardcore outfits will seriously appreciate this offering.
