Long and drawn out,
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Like People In History (Paperback)
I read all the reviews before buying this book, as I hadn't previously heard of either the title or the author. I'd come across this book as it was mentioned by a reviewer writing about a different book as being a worthwhile read.
Given the number of reviews on this book outlining the story and characters, there's no need for me to repeat it here. However, I did find it long and drawn out. In fact, it took me several weeks to read it. That's because it's such a wonderful read. It was like sipping on a favourite glass of wine, or savouring a delicious piece of food in your mouth. I found myself doing everything to make it last. I took it with me on a week's break with the intention of finishing it, but I did everything to draw it out. So much so that my partner remarked it must be an awful read as I was taking so long to get through it.
I was really sorry when finally I arrived at the last page.
It's a beautiful story, well told and one that will tug at all your emotions.
