2.0 out of 5 stars Nice book, shame about the e-edition, 19 Jun. 2011
This review is from: Dear Boy: The Life Of Keith Moon (Kindle Edition)
The reason I have only given this otherwise good book only two stars is the lamentable lack of proof-reading of the e-edition. We pay almost as much for an e-book as we do for a hard copy even though the publisher is saved the cost of printing and distribution. The least we should expect is that the publisher will give the e-book a quick read through to pick up the errors that the optical character recognition software has produced. It's just not good enough.

Paul,

This is the author here. I agree with you about pricing of e-books, that's something out of my hands and largely set by the distributors. But I'm curious as to which Dear Boy e-book you own that you say is so full of errors. My Kindle editions reads fine. I have checked with the publishers and they insist the book was NOT simply scanned for any e-book editions. Can you offer specific examples of e-edition related errors so that we all understand your concerns and they can be addressed if necessary?

Thanks

Tony

tony ,
i have a kindle edition and cannot bring to mind any errors other than my reader running a few words into each other but that i think is due to the text size i use ?

i won a fanclub competition years ago and got a 1976 bellboy programme autographed by keith.....by mum threw it out when cleaning my room one day ! would it of been worth much today ?

I was the binman on your route that day. Thanks to your mum throwing out that piece of memorabilia, I now live on the Costa Brava and spend my days sipping champagne with supermodels!
