I bought this for Meljean Brook's Wrecked - I love her Iron Seas series, and I love her short stories. She wrote one a few years back about someone who could see through the eyes of others, and thereby was able to access someone's email by "watching" them enter their password. Ever since I've wanted to look away or shut my eyes when I access my bank! It's also one I re-read over and over. However - we're not here for that (Blind Spot in Must Love Hellhounds if you're interested).
Soooo, Wrecked was what I expected for the series, tightly written, covered an interesting moral no-no, and was enjoyable. If our heroine reversed her attitude towards a certain someone a little fast, well hey, it's a short story - things have to jog along apace, and a lot happens here. A good addition to the series.
The other two stories have their merits - Speed Mating is fairly classic shifter territory - strong silent man, lippy, insecure woman, mating compulsion - the end is clear from the offset, but the journey is fun - and they really do have a speed mating session - just like speed dating but looking for a mate. And Conjuring Max - again something different - haven't come across witchery by computer before. This was nice because the two main characters had time to get to know each other before .... well, y'know, stuff happened, and the end was interesting.
All have fairly carnal (straight) sex scenes, so avoid if this isn't your thing. Worth the pennies.
