This review is from: Zelda's Cut (Hardcover)
This is the second book I've read by Philippa Gregory. The first was 'The Little House', which I found so chilling and enjoyable that I couldn't wait to read another by this author! 'Zelda's Cut' was so very different to 'The Little House' and totally unlike the type of novel I usually read. I loved it! It's as if a tiny bit of each genre of story has sneaked into this novel, causing it to alternate between elements of sadness, intrigue, sassiness and kinkiness! The transformation from the life of the rather dull Isobel Latimer and her selfish husband to that of the very flamboyant, ultra sexy/confident Zelda and her ambiguous lover is a real eye-opener. I couldn't stop reading this book and although I am far from old-fashioned in my outlook, the sexual encounters between Zelda and her agent made me question whether this was the same author that wrote "The Little House"! If you're not easily offended and love a book with a very unexpected twist to it, go out and buy this now!
