Not Cheap but Well Made and Useful for Monitoring Electricity Usage,
This review is from: Efergy Technologies ELITE CLASSIC 3.0 In-Home Energy Monitor (DIY & Tools)
The unit is quite easy to install with the very clear instructions provided.
It is a noticeable improvement on the original model with better appearance and historical information logging. It also uses higher capacity AA rather than AAA size batteries;6 in total.
The unit is illuminated for "night time" use but strangely you have no control over when the backlight should be enabled.
Their web site [...] provides support, electronic versions of user guides, etc.
In use, one is typically enthusiastic for the first few days looking at "live" readings but later on one tends to let it collect data unattended with occasional inspections.
I would recommend comparing it with your electricity meter readings to begin with to make sure your cumulative readings match reasonably well. If necessary you can tweak the recorded values by adjusting the nominal mains voltage as part of the srtup process.
Also using reasonable quality rechargeable batteries would be better than disposable ones.
