This review is from: Wide blue snow shovel plow with castors, metal shaft and plastic scoop 82x43.5 cm (Tools & Hardware)
I ordered this as a 4th snow-clearing tool (wide stiff brush / big shovel / snow blower) to quickly clear smaller snowfalls (up to 3") on the concrete slab path & tarmac drive. It's very light, the rubber rollers work well, and it will move around 5 yards before you have to either tip it up to deposit the snow in a pile, or just push it aside. Lifting snow with it isn't a good idea, you'll injure your back (or break the plastic scoop)....use the shovel for that bit.
Most effective with dryer snow, its light construction struggles after 3-5 yards of built-up wet snow, so in those cases, a good (wide/deep head) shovel may still be required if the snow has to be thrown off the area being cleared. If doing a long path, just stop every few yards then go back & use a shovel to move those piles of snow....perfect for 2 people sharing the work!
For a bigger area (eg tarmac drive), I used this to push most of the snow together, then brought out the snow-blower (normally only used for the bigger 4"-20" snowfall) to finish the task! No back problems!! :0)
I live inside the Cairngorm National Park, where 3"-6" of snow is a regular overnight event & nothing we get bothered about, and where a few 12"+ overnight falls happen a few times a year. This gadget halved today's snow clearing time.
