This review is from: Let No Man Steal Your Thyme (Audio CD)
I was hooked into buying this album after hearing her rendition of "Let No Man Steal Your Thyme" on Mike Harding a couple years ago, and have been listening to the album on & off ever since. Personally, I don't rate her as better or worse than Sandy Denny, they just both have slightly different styles (as for the suggestion further down that Sandy's voice is hard - what about Banks of the Nile?).
Stylistically the music alters throughout the album, and Let No Man Steal Your Thyme is probably the closest thing to trad folk on the album (and better than the Pentangle version). Of all the songs that, Dowie Dens Of Yarrow, Odyssey, Stargazer & Waiting For The Wind To Rise are my favourites. As others have said ad infinitum, if you like really good female folk singers, then this album is a must. Who knows what she would have achieved if she were still recording.
