This review is from: Childbirth without Fear: The Principles and Practice of Natural Childbirth (Paperback)
Really excellent, particularly that it has been brought up to date and yet shares the author experiences during the Crimea and early War years. Gives real conext for how "recent" medical developments have been and how they have shaped the childbirth experience of today. I loved the science bits explaining how fear and pain work together and how if you reduce fear, you reduce pain - I never knew that and it has given me the confidence to look for a quiet, "safe" place to give birth - ie if at all possible, not a loud, bright, scary hospital.
