This review is from: House of the Hanged (Kindle Edition)Bought this book after a favourable review in one of the broadsheets.
Enjoyed the description of life in pre war France and the character of Tom. However the spy suspense story wasn't taught enough and the numerous mentions of the political situation so contrived, despite the characters having plausible reason to know these, to the point it feels they were introduced just so the author could show off his knowledge of the period.
Overall, the writing is average enough to hold attention for a while, but ultimately will disappear in the mists of time.
