This review is from: The Small Hand: A Ghost Story (Hardcover)Susan Hill's latest foray into the supernatural is a rather tepid and disappointing affair. There's an unfinished feel to this book - it reads like the bare bones of a bigger and better book. The characters are so thinly sketched that they're barely two-dimensional and the plot is the type of bland generic ghost story that anyone could think up. Reading The Small Hand is not an unpleasant experience but it's certainly an underwhelming one and if it were written by a lesser-known author I suspect that it would sink without trace.
