Lyndon Johnson Told The Nation,
This review is from: Ramblin' Boy/Ain't That News (Audio CD)
In my folk club days (69/70) you could not get through an evening without at least one person performing one of the classics from Tom's first album. Other reviews have rightly written of the gems on these two re-released albums, but, as yet, none have mentioned the one track that is so relevant today:
Change the name from Lyndon Johnson to George W Bush, Vietnam to Iraq and see what has changed in 40 odd years, what lessons have our leaders learnt about the futility of war. This is not an anti-war protest review, but just an attempt to point out an amazing similarity between two no-win conflicts.
Tom Paxton is a great singer-songwriter and his albums will grace any collection.

Tom Paxton has actually recorded an updated version called "Georgie Dubya Told the Nation," which you can download for free on his website.
