Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: bibi Formula Milk Powder Dispenser (Baby Product)
At first glance (and looking at the reviews), this seemed to be the ideal solution to baby's formula dispensing. So I purchased this with much enthusiasm.

However, after filling it up and using it, I have come to find that the design of this dispenser leaves much to be desired.

For starters, the base of each plastic compartment is made out of a flexible silicon material. In the diagram that accompanies the product, they suggest that one must "pump" this silicon sheath while the compartment is tipped into the bottle to let all the powder fall neatly into the bottle. While this may appear to be logical at first glance, the fact is -- the average user will not use it this way.

Indeed anyone would hold the entire unit as a whole and just undo the lid to tip the contents of the top compartment for a feed. So in effect, the whole detach-one-section-and-pump is just an unnecessarily over-engineered feature. Having said that, this causes five more problems:

1. The silicon base attracts powdered milk at both ends (top and bottom). Because of this, the top container ends up with leftover formula powder within.

2. Also, when you tip the unit upside down, the underside of each section also gets covered with formula powder.

3. And finally, as a result of problem no.2, when you do actually switch the top (empty) compartment with the second (full) compartment, your hands and the resting surface inevitably get covered in formula milk powder.

4. And due to the above, you cannot use this unit as a carry-along dispenser because the baby bag gets covered with milk powder inside which is a messy business through and through.

5. The whole stack-it-up design also leads to questionable hygiene of the container because the bottom-most container's base is exposed and touches the surface it rests upon. And as it rises through the unit, it is exposed to the unit underneath. I don't think these units are designed to be washed after every use. Which means that eventually, the formula milk will come into contact with the silicon base that was once exposed to outer non-sterile elements.

6. And finally, the unit does not come with any spare lids which would enable the user to carry part of the unit with the peace of mind that the remaining containers are covered and protected at home. They would just sit there exposed to unwelcome elements.

Due to all the above reasons, this dispenser now remains at home. And what is being used outdoors is a bog-standard dispenser from Tesco which is humbler, cheaper and all-in-all much more efficient.
