The first thing I wanted to make was the Cornish Pasty. I do a fair bit of baking, so I knew to double check the ingredients for the pastry. 2 tablespoons of water for 300 gr flour? Online I saw another of their recipes for shortcrust which said the same amount of water so I proceeded.
After trying to roll out one pasty it would not hold. I added a normal amount of ice water to the remaining dough and it worked just fine. Also, I wouldn't really consider making pastry, or any dough without at least a little salt...
And now having eaten it, I'd say its just okay. Could use more meat and something else?
Its disappointing because it means I'll have to double check every recipe before I try it.
