great idea, not so great execution,
This review is from: Midnight Swimmer, The (Paperback)
I had high hopes for this book, but unfortunately I was rather dissapointed. The book tells the story of a British spy who travels through continents as he gets sucked in to cold war intrigue. His aim is to keep Britain from falling victim to the madness of the superpowers courting armageddon at the time of the Cuban missile crisis. Great plot right? Yes, but the writing is clunky and the intermingling of historical fact and fiction unrealistic. I read it to the end, but was not taken by it.
