Old and new hymns together,

This review is from: Complete Mission Praise: Music edition (Hymn Book) (Hardcover)
Mission Praise began as a book for Christians from different backgrounds to sing from during Billy Graham's "Mission England" campaign in 1984. It combines the best of the old traditional hymns with the most exciting new Christian music. So whether yours is a congregation of oldies willing to enjoy new trends, of youngsters wishing to explore their roots, or you're trying to encourage young and old to worship together and learn from each other, this is the book for you. There are good indexes, of first lines, of themes, and of hymns for times in the Christian year. The accompaniments are suitable for keyboard or guitar. I have bought the latest edition because I had worn out the previous one; I always consult it when deciding which hymns to choose to go with a sermon I have planned, even if the congregation use a different edition or a different hymnbook; if you have paid for a licence to CCLI, you can always print them out or use an overhead projector.

As a guitarist and worship band leader for 20+ years I would question how good some of these arrangements are for guitar. In my experience there are much more guitarist-friendly arrangements in other books (Spring Harvest, Songs of Fellowship etc.).
